Sunset Tennis Club is expanding! This month, it’s opening a new location in Tarzana, Los Angeles. The club has been growing rapidly, increasing membership by 300% from 2022 to 2023 and 200% from 2023 to 2024. They started with just 30 members and one clinic. Now, they have about 1,000 players and multiple locations offering 25 weekly clinics.

Founded by Anna and Kacper Owsian, the couple met over a decade ago while playing tennis in Poland. They wanted to create a community that blends sport and socializing in Los Angeles, inspired by the vibrant tennis culture of the ’70s and ’80s. Their first locations included Bel Air, Brentwood, and Beverly Hills.

Anna Owsian emphasizes that at Sunset Tennis Club, they aim to foster a friendly atmosphere for players of all levels. “We want everyone, from beginners to seasoned pros, to feel welcomed and part of our tennis culture,” she says. The club’s picturesque courts offer a perfect setting for this tennis revival.

Members can book private or group lessons and enjoy special rates. Additional perks include guest passes, VIP event invitations, and benefits from lifestyle partners. The club also hosts tennis lifestyle events, collaborating with brands like Sporty & Rich, Oliver Peoples, and Fila. Furthermore, they’re gearing up for the BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells, where they’ll run clinics and exclusive social events.

After notable growth, the club is aiming to expand even further, eyeing events in Palm Springs and beyond. They plan to align with the ATP Masters Tour schedule, bringing more tennis events to their community. “We want to reach members outside of Los Angeles, starting with the Hamptons this summer,” Anna shares. This will let members enjoy Sunset Tennis during their summer travels.

Looking ahead, Sunset Tennis Club also has international plans that tie into the ATP Masters Tour. They’re considering pop-ups in cities like London during Wimbledon and Paris for Roland Garros. This expansion aims to provide a unique and attractive tennis experience worldwide.
