If you’ve ever watched Sex and the City, you know Charlotte York faced some tough breakups. Interestingly, actress Kristin Davis experienced her own romantic challenges off-screen during her time on the show.
The iconic HBO series debuted in 1998 and ran until 2004. During this period, Kristin was arguably at her peak fame, dating various high-profile individuals, including Alec Baldwin. Their relationship in the early 2000s didn’t last long, but it had its moments.
In a recent episode of Rob Lowe’s podcast, Kristin revealed she had a unique reason for hesitating to break up with Alec. “Alec Baldwin was so rich by the time I dated him,” she said. “One of the best things about Alec Baldwin was his incredible house in Amagansett.” It seems the appeal of the mansion was hard for her to overlook.
Kristin even sought advice from her co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, who portrayed Carrie Bradshaw on the show. She admitted to Sarah Jessica that she loved Alec’s house and was unsure if the relationship would work out. “I find it a little embarrassing to admit now,” she shared.
“This was one of the few times I felt that way. I didn’t want to break up because I liked his house,” she confessed, smiling at her own honesty about the situation.
But this wasn’t the only romantic story Kristin shared. Recently, she disclosed on her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?, that a different actor, who has since become very successful, ghosted her after she lent him $5,000 during their relationship. She noticed he was having trouble with bills after wrecking his motorcycle, which he used for auditions, and decided to help him out. Sadly, after that, he stopped calling.
He remains unnamed, but Kristin made it clear that this actor is not Alec Baldwin. “I never would have had to lend Alec $5,000,” she clarified.
It’s understandable why Kristin struggled to let go of Alec and his gorgeous beach house. Breakups are difficult enough without the added allure of a luxurious home.
