Celebrating Excellence: Maui Health CEO Lynn Fulton Receives 2025 Women Who Mean Business Award | Maui Now

Lynn Fulton, the CEO of Maui Health, has been honored with the Pacific Business News “Women Who Mean Business” award for 2025. This award celebrates women who make a real difference in business and community leadership.

Since taking charge on January 1, 2024, Fulton has been a significant force at Maui Health. According to the organization, she’s a transformative leader who has greatly improved operational efficiency and staff engagement while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Tamar Goodfellow, a board director at Maui Health, praised Fulton for her understanding of hospital operations. “She has helped our hospital become self-sustaining while ensuring we provide excellent care for everyone in Maui,” she said. Goodfellow also highlighted Fulton’s fresh perspective, mentioning her role as both a mentor and a champion for the community.

Fulton brings over two decades of experience in healthcare management. She has successfully led various hospitals and healthcare projects, focusing on strategic planning and team development. Known for her collaborative approach, she works to align health services with community needs. Her reputation for authenticity has helped her build trust and create strong relationships within the organization.

A standout aspect of Fulton’s leadership is her commitment to investing in staff. Soon after becoming CEO, she initiated a comprehensive leadership development program. This program provides ongoing education and resources to help department leaders grow their skills and advance in their careers.

Mary Hew, another board director, noted that Fulton has inspired the executive team and developed a strategic plan for Maui Health’s future. “She’s focused on nurturing local talent and creating career pathways for nurses and other healthcare positions,” Hew said.

Reflecting on her award, Fulton expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of collaboration. “I am dedicated to our staff, community doctors, and all residents and visitors of Maui,” she stated. “I’m excited about continuing to create positive changes in our healthcare system.”

The Women Who Mean Business awards are held each year to honor women making meaningful impacts in their fields. This year’s winners will be celebrated at a gala in Oʻahu in March 2025.
