The eagerly awaited Vande Bharat train connecting Jammu and Srinagar is on track for launch soon. This semi-high-speed service will be the first of its kind in the Kashmir Valley, marking a significant step for Indian Railways in the region.
The train, operated by the Northern Railway zone, aims to enhance travel between Jammu and Srinagar. Initially set to launch in February, the introduction was postponed due to various complications. There’s now optimism that the train will debut this month.
A senior railway official has indicated that the official launch could happen in March, although it’s still awaiting final confirmation from the Railway Board. The service will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra station and Srinagar, further improving connectivity in the region.
