The Nashville Predators Foundation has made a generous donation of $25,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
This gift supports Second Harvest’s annual Spread the Love campaign, which runs every February. During this month, Second Harvest encourages the community to donate peanut butter, jelly, nut butter, and other spreadable foods. These items are essential for regional food pantries because they are nutritious, have a long shelf life, and are popular among those in need.
Rebecca King, Vice President of Community Relations for the Nashville Predators, expressed the foundation’s pride in partnering with Second Harvest. She emphasized the food bank’s vital role in supporting the community.
This year’s campaign is particularly impactful, helping to stock more than 600 partner food pantries in the area. Thanks to various initiatives—including the Predators’ sponsorship, food drives, and a corporate competition—Second Harvest managed to provide an impressive 210,220 meals.
Additionally, Nashville Predators staff members organized their own drive, collecting 524 pounds of peanut butter as part of the effort to fight hunger in the community.
The donation from the Predators Foundation was made possible through funds raised with the help of Compassion International’s Fill the Arena campaign. This partnership shows how local organizations can come together to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
