SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Nevada Men’s Basketball faced a tough end to their regular season, losing to San Diego State 80-61 at Viejas Arena on Saturday night. Despite a push in the second half, the Wolf Pack couldn’t overcome a shaky start.
Tyler Rolison led Nevada with 19 points, along with five rebounds and an assist. Nick Davidson added 16 points and seven rebounds, going 4-for-4 at the free-throw line. The Pack fought hard in the second half, scoring 40 points to San Diego State’s 37, but they couldn’t match the Aztecs’ sharp shooting.
First Half
San Diego State started strong, taking advantage of Nevada’s slow start. The Pack struggled, hitting just 31.6% of their shots. Davidson tried to spark the team with some free throws and a layup, but the Aztecs’ defense forced turnovers that led to easy baskets. Nick Boyd was key for San Diego State, hitting crucial shots and helping them build a significant lead. By halftime, the score was 43-21, with the Aztecs shooting a remarkable 60% from the field.
Second Half
After the break, Nevada found its stride. Rolison dominated, scoring 14 of his 19 points in this half while being aggressive and drawing fouls. The team improved their shooting to 46.4% and made a push, going on a 6-0 run. Davidson hit a big three-pointer, narrowing the gap to 15 points. But San Diego State wasn’t fazed, responding with balanced scoring from players like Miles Heide and Pharaoh Compton. Despite Nevada’s efforts, the Aztecs kept control and secured the victory.
