The inquiry exposed how many top baby food brands were aware of toxins like lead and arsenic but did nothing to address the issue. This year, he expects to present a solid, evidence-based plan to tackle these concerns.
He emphasized the importance of food safety for infants, stating, “This is a personal issue for families like mine. I want to make sure that I follow through.” He set a deadline of March 15 for a briefing on the baby food issue.
While there are looming cuts to government agencies, Krishnamoorthi hopes that both parties can unite on this crucial cause. He voiced concern over the proposed job cuts at the FDA, suggesting that reforms should be targeted rather than drastic.
