The menu items, like the 2,700-calorie Awesome Blossom, felt less like a meal and more like a challenge. With bland interiors and a vibe that screams “airport dining,” it’s no surprise Chili’s doesn’t suit everyone’s taste. Even its infamous “Resolution Breaker Marg” failed to entice me during Dry January.

But the highlight of my visit? That would be the newly opened Ten Seconds Noodle House. This booming chain from China caters to noodle lovers with over 750 locations in its home country. The highlight is their “Cross the Bridge Noodle Soup,” which has an interesting backstory. The dish comes from a Yunnan folk tale about a scholar and his wife, who made sure the ingredients didn’t get soggy by crossing a bridge with them separately. Here, you can have a hot pot filled with a variety of broths like Szechuan Mala Spicy. Toss in ingredients such as shrimp and quail eggs, wait ten minutes, and dig in! The flavors are comforting, perfect for any noodle enthusiast.
If you’re feeling adventurous, try their unique options like Hot Pot Beef Tripe or the Sauerkraut Fish Filet. They also feature dried rice noodles, cold appetizers like smashed cucumber, and Japanese dishes such as shrimp tempura for some extra variety. It’s a welcome addition to the area, offering an enjoyable and satisfying meal.
For those who enjoy a sweet touch to their culinary adventures, make a stop at Over the Top Cake Supplies. This store boasts an array of creative baking items, from cookie cutters shaped like palm trees to unique sprinkles. They don’t bake cakes, but they offer classes on crafting treats like kolaches and cinnamon rolls. So, you can learn how to make your dream dessert from scratch!
Next door, you’ll find Le Bleu, a cozy Vietnamese restaurant. Owner Tebi Nguyen knows his stuff. He shares insights about their house-made sambal—a delicious blend of red jalapeños, garlic, and sugar that is fermented for flavor. The menu shines with appetizers like grilled octopus and corn ribs, in addition to classic dishes like pho and bánh mì that you won’t want to miss. A must-try is their whole fried branzino paired with green onion and chili garlic sauce—a dish packed with flavors that linger long after your meal ends.
If you’re in the mood for something more casual, The Bon Aire offers a quintessential American dining experience. Their prices are unbelievably low, with burgers and shrimp that take you back to simpler times. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a meal without overspending and feel at home among local memorabilia.
As the Crossroads continues to evolve, it’s becoming a hub of culinary adventures and quirky retail experiences. Whether you’re craving delicious noodles, seeking out unique baking supplies, or just looking for a great burger, this lively area has something to offer everyone.
