KERRVILLE, Texas – The Concordia Texas softball team had an impressive start to their series against Schreiner University, winning convincingly with a score of 9-1. Malarie Mican led the charge, making headlines with three hits and three runs during the game at Mountaineer Softball Field.

The Tornados jumped into action right from the first inning. With the bases loaded, Addison Lehew hit a two-RBI double that brought in Mican and Kylie Denaro. Shortly after, Molly Olivarez hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Kylie Kirk to cross home plate. Taylor Smrt capped off a powerful first inning with an RBI single to score Lehew.

By the second inning, the score was already 5-0 after Denaro scored Mican. The team’s momentum only grew when Christian Everett hit an RBI double, bringing home Smrt. Denaro again made a splash in the third inning with another two-RBI double, scoring both Everett and Mican, pushing the lead to 8-0.

Schreiner managed to score once in the fourth inning, but Concordia Texas responded, with Mican grounding out to score Everett, bringing the final score to 9-1.
