Loyola University Chicago’s Roisin Treacy is making waves in track and field. At the recent Mt. SAC Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational, she broke her own record in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:14.36. That’s almost eight seconds faster than her previous best! This remarkable feat happened just weeks after she set her previous record at the Raleigh Relays.
Teammate Aiden Grasse also shined, finishing fifth in the steeplechase with a personal best of 10:48.41, placing her fourth on Loyola’s all-time list.
On the men’s side, Nate Boutin led the pack with a new personal best of 8:58.81, earning fourth place in his heat and climbing to third in Loyola’s history. Close behind, Gabe Smit clocked in with 9:05.53, pushing him to eighth in program history. Trent Anderson also impressed with his personal best of 9:32.32.
Meanwhile, at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Emma Watcke set a new PR in the women’s 5,000 meters, finishing with a time of 15:57.60, the second fastest in Loyola’s history. Others, including Grace Jostock and Ali Gillooly, also achieved personal bests in the 5K.
In the men’s 5K, Jake Phillips ran a stellar 14:05.89, earning a top 10 finish. His teammate, Cael Mulholland, also performed well with a time of 14:20.06.
In the 800-meter open, Jack Slaughter and James Howell both set personal bests, finishing in 1:53.45 and 1:53.88, respectively.
At the Don Church Invitational in Wheaton, Aidan Collins secured seventh place in the 1,500m with a personal best of 4:06.05, while Kyle Knutson came in ninth. On the women’s side, Charlotte Wilson finished third in 5:11.66, with Madison Perez and Jo Collins following closely behind.
With competition ongoing at these exciting events, it’s clear that the Ramblers are on the rise. Track and field like this is not just about personal milestones; it’s about teamwork, dedication, and pushing limits.
