Instead of trading up, the Giants selected Abdul Carter, an edge rusher from Penn State. While Schoen didn’t confirm that Carter was their top choice, he did say he was definitely among the team’s top three picks.

Later in the draft, the Giants traded with the Houston Texans to snag the 25th pick, where they drafted quarterback Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss. "We’re thrilled to have him. He’s got great potential, but there’s still a lot of work ahead," Schoen said. He acknowledged that learning the offense would be challenging and that Dart would need time to develop.

In the meantime, to solidify their quarterback position, the Giants signed Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson in free agency, naming him their starter.

Despite not securing the coveted No. 1 pick, the Giants felt satisfied with how the draft unfolded. They walked away with a strong defensive asset in Carter and a promising young quarterback in Dart, setting a solid foundation for the future.
