Indrabalan spoke to ETV Bharat, emphasizing that the Indian Army now has the authority to respond decisively to any provocations from Pakistan. “With the central government’s backing, we are ready to act quickly. The Army can choose its response, whether through missiles or surgical strikes,” he stated. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the military a free hand to act.

It’s the Army’s call on whether a surgical response is necessary,” he added. Despite the potential for escalation, Indrabalan pointed out that any full-scale war would require government approval.

Interestingly, he dismissed the notion that China’s support for Pakistan would impact India’s position. “China might provide some military assistance, but it won’t change the fundamental dynamics,” he explained.

He also warned Pakistan of forthcoming retaliation for the Kashmir attack, indicating that operations are ongoing in Anantnag to locate the terrorists involved.
