Schon Doorways Goes Global: Expanding to 180+ Cities in India and Entering International Construction Markets

Schon Doorways has become a major player in India’s aluminium doors and windows market, now serving over 180 cities—including Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, and Pune. The company is also exporting to countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with recent shipments to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Malaysia. This move highlights its dedication to sustainable construction globally.

As India shifts from relying on imports to boosting local manufacturing, the aluminium sector is projected to grow significantly. It’s estimated to reach a market value of USD 1.45 billion by 2029, driven by the demand for eco-friendly and stylish building materials. Schon Doorways’ growth aligns with the government’s goal to increase manufacturing’s contribution to GDP from 12% to 23% in the next 20 years. Notably, foreign investment in the manufacturing sector reached USD 29.79 billion in the first half of FY2024–25, according to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Schon Doorways operates a state-of-the-art 80,000 sq. ft. facility in Bengaluru, producing between 25,000 to 30,000 sq. ft. of aluminium systems every month. They prioritize sustainability by using 30% recycled aluminium and meet international certifications like LEED and BREEAM. The company has also invested in smart features, developing proprietary hardware for magnetic sealing and smart locking, alongside filing a patent for a new corner slider system. Future plans include reaching 60% digitization by 2027, focusing on CNC automation, IoT integration, and AI-driven quality checks.

Ajay Balakrishna, the Founder and CEO, emphasizes the rising need for aluminium solutions that combine style, strength, and sustainability. “Our strategy is aimed at meeting this demand while showcasing Indian engineering on the global stage,” he said.

This expansion is also part of larger national initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ promoting local innovation while creating jobs in advanced manufacturing sectors focused on automation and sustainability.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Schon Doorways offers high-performance aluminium fenestration systems, serving various markets both in India and abroad. Their commitment to technology and sustainability allows them to provide customized solutions that meet global standards.
