The Climate Action and Environment Committee (CAE) is a key group that helps guide Whistler’s response to climate change and environmental issues. Formed to support the Council’s goals for the 2022-2026 term, the committee focuses on making practical recommendations and strategies. The Bigger Picture
Climate change is a pressing issue. According to a recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global temperatures could rise by 1.5°C by 2030 if current trends continue. This highlights the need for action at both local and global levels. Initiatives like those led by CAE are crucial in addressing these challenges.
As more communities recognize climate urgency, the role of similar committees will only grow. Engaging with community efforts can amplify voices and drive meaningful change.
