Shyam Benegal Last Rites: Filmmaker Shyam Benegal, well-known for his movies in Indian cinema within the Nineteen Seventies and Eighties, was cremated with full state honors in Mumbai on Tuesday and he was given a three-gun salute.
Benegal, well-known for movies like ‘Ankur’, ‘Mandi’, ‘Nishant’ and ‘Junoon’, died in a hospital right here on Monday. He was affected by critical kidney illness. The filmmaker celebrated his ninetieth birthday on 14 December. His final rites passed off at Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar at round 3 o’clock within the day.
