Abe Jackson Named Idaho Sportscaster of the Year
Boise State men’s basketball analyst Abe Jackson has been awarded the 2025 Idaho Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). This honor recognizes the best broadcasters in each state, selected by NSMA members.
Jackson will be celebrated this summer, June 28-29, in Greensboro, North Carolina. “I’m truly honored to receive this award,” he shared. “Working with Bob Behler for 18 years has been a joy, and I appreciate everyone who has tuned in and made us part of their game day.”
This marks the first time Jackson has received this accolade in his career. He joins his partner Behler, a six-time Sportscaster of the Year. Since 2008, the pair has called over 500 games on KBOI and the Bronco Radio Network.
Reflecting on their early days, Behler recalled, “We practiced with video tapes before our first season. Abe quickly learned how to communicate effectively during plays, and now he can handle games solo, which is impressive.”
Beyond broadcasting, Jackson was a standout player for Boise State from 1998-2002. He earned All-Conference honors three times and remains prominent in the program’s history, ranking fourth in three-point field goals and seventh in total points with 1,660.
