New Delhi, March 7 (ANI) – NITI Aayog, the central government’s top policy think tank, is taking bold steps to make India a leader in electronics manufacturing. Recently, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery met with Tata Electronics’ team, led by MD & CEO Dr. Randhir Thakur. Their discussions aimed to boost India’s electronics production and enhance supply chains.
NITI Aayog shared on social media, highlighting the growing global demand for electronics and the supportive policies that will help India’s manufacturing landscape. “With rising global demand and supportive policy initiatives, India is well positioned to expand its footprint in advanced electronics manufacturing,” they stated.
This initiative aligns with the Indian government’s vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” or Self-Reliant India, especially in the semiconductor and electronics sectors. By working closely with companies like Tata Electronics, a leader in semiconductor testing and mobile components, NITI Aayog seeks to ensure that policies reflect industry needs.
The partnership between government efforts and private sector innovation is seen as essential for creating jobs and fostering a culture of creativity. “Continued collaboration between government institutions and industry leaders will be key to unlocking new investment, innovation, and employment opportunities in this strategic sector,” said NITI Aayog.
Recent data shows that India’s electronics production has soared nearly six times in the last eleven years, boosting the sector’s industrial base and generating 2.5 million jobs. The Union Budget for 2026-27 even increased funding for the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme to ₹40,000 crore, emphasizing the government’s commitment to local manufacturing.
