At Embark, we’re focused on fair play for everyone across our games. With the launch of ARC Raiders Riven Tides, we want to share our approach to anti-cheat. It’s a team effort aimed at keeping the game fun and fair.
Our anti-cheat system includes advanced protection from Easy Anti-Cheat, which works alongside machine learning (ML) models. These models learn from real player data, helping us detect cheats effectively. While we can’t share all our methods for security reasons, we’re constantly improving our strategies.
Why is kernel-level protection crucial? Most cheats operate at this level. Without it, we’d struggle to see what’s really happening in the game. We’re testing a new kernel solution that should enhance our detection across Speranza and the Rust Belt.
On the machine learning front, we analyze player telemetry to catch cheats. Our partnership with Anybrain helps us build effective models that adapt over time.
One challenge we face is accommodating players who use accessibility devices. These devices are essential for some players but can also be misused. We want to differentiate between genuine use and cheating. Our system analyzes usage patterns to ensure that honest players can still enjoy the game. This area is a work in progress, but we’re committed to making it better.
Not all accessibility devices are created equal. We focus on well-known options to help improve detection. Our collaboration with Anybrain helps us stay updated on various accessibility tools, making our systems smarter and more reliable.
When it comes to bans, we ensure that every appeal is reviewed by a real person. Our process isn’t automated because we value fairness. We’re dedicated to refining it based on what we learn from each case. Yes, it can be frustrating to wait for a response, but consistency matters, and we make sure to treat each situation carefully.
As gaming technology grows, so does the need for robust anti-cheat measures. According to a recent report, 60% of gamers have encountered cheating, which highlights the importance of our commitment. We aim to protect the integrity of gameplay for all.
