Schiff’s letter also requests any communications between the FCC and ABC about the Kimmel episode, including any discussions with the White House. One notable question asks about the FCC’s legal grounds for revoking licenses based on controversial content.

Carr contends that local stations must maintain the “public interest” and applauded the affiliates for their actions. Meanwhile, Senator Ben Ray Luján suggested that Carr should be summoned for further questioning.
