Seremban, 16 July 2025 – AEON CO. (M) BHD. is shaking things up in Negeri Sembilan by starting an exciting new extension at AEON Mall Seremban 2. This project aims to cater to the needs of a growing community, reflecting AEON’s focus on the lifestyle and economic growth in Seremban.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, YAB Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun, the Menteri Besar, was present with Datuk Iskandar Sarudin, AEON’s Chairman, and Naoya Okada, Managing Director of AEON. Together, they marked the beginning of this significant venture.

The new four-storey extension will sit on a 23.04-acre site right across from the current mall. It’ll add two parking levels and will connect to the existing mall through an overhead pedestrian bridge for easy access.

Once complete, expected in 2027, AEON Mall Seremban 2 will boast over 700,000 square feet of retail space, making it the largest mall in Seremban. Meanwhile, the original mall will continue to serve shoppers without interruption.

Naoya Okada expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, “This project goes beyond adding space; it’s about enhancing community life. We want to create a place where people can shop, connect, and enjoy time with their families. We’re aiming to provide more choices and support the local economy.”

Interestingly, AEON is not just expanding in Seremban. Last year, they opened their 35th store in Setia Alam and made upgrades at various locations, including AEON Wellness and DAISO in Kuala Lumpur. AEON Mall Ipoh Station 18 was also relaunched this year with a fresh look. These efforts show AEON’s commitment to revitalizing its malls for better customer experiences.

This expansion comes at a time when retail trends are evolving, with consumers increasingly seeking personalized shopping experiences. Studies show that in 2023, over 70% of consumers prioritize community engagement when choosing where to shop.
