NEW DELHI: Air India has ordered 34 trainer aircraft — 31 single-engine aircraft from Piper Aircraft within the United States and three twin-engine aircraft from Diamond Aircraft in Austria — for its upcoming flying coaching group (FTO) at Maharashtra’s Amravati.
AI goals to have this FTO prepared by mid-2025 and make it the largest flying school in south Asia to satisfy India’s future pilot requirement given the large orders positioned by the Tata Group airline and different carriers right here. Delivery of the trainer aircraft will start subsequent yr and AI plans to graduate 180 business pilots yearly from the upcoming flying school.
