TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama center Charles Bediako has been denied an injunction against the NCAA, which means he cannot play for the Crimson Tide anymore.
The NCAA ruled Bediako ineligible in January. Initially, he received a temporary restraining order from Judge Jim Roberts, allowing him to stay on the court while the case was heard. This order let him play in five games, where he averaged 10 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. The team had a mixed record, winning three and losing two.

On the day before the court hearing, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey expressed concerns about the inconsistent application of NCAA rules. He noted that this inconsistency disrupts college sports.
With this ruling, Bediako’s time with the team has come to an end. Alabama’s next game without him will be against Ole Miss on Wednesday night, starting at 6 p.m. CT.
