Home Nurse Arrested for Alleged Abuse in Bensalem
BENSALLEM, Pa. — A home health nurse, Cindy Dresser, has been arrested for allegedly mistreating a medically fragile child under her care. This alarming situation came to light when the child’s mother reviewed surveillance footage from their home.
The video reportedly shows Dresser engaging in several forms of abuse, including throwing the child in the crib and hitting them. Observations also revealed that she was sleeping during her shift instead of providing necessary care.
The child was quickly taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation. In one shocking incident, Dresser allegedly removed the child’s tracheostomy tube and delayed putting it back, leading to breathing difficulties for the child.
After the footage was reported, Dresser was entered into the National Crime Information Center database and arrested by Warwick Township Police. She now faces serious charges and is being held on a $2 million bail after a court arraignment.
