Jenna Bush Hager recently showed Amy Poehler that she’s got a great sense of humor too. On Monday, Poehler, who just launched her podcast “Good Hang,” appeared on “Today with Jenna & Friends”. During the show, they reminisced about a time when Poehler and Tina Fey impersonated Hager and her twin sister, Barbara Bush, on “Saturday Night Live” in 2005.
In that sketch, Fey wrote a funny scene where Will Forte played George W. Bush, the sisters’ father. The sketch featured the twins drunkenly chatting in a “secret twin language” about their dad’s presidency.
When the clip played, both Hager and Poehler couldn’t help but laugh. Poehler joked, “Sweating, I’m totally sweating. I think we had fun in that sketch. We didn’t come too hard.”
Hager added some insight, revealing that when the sketch aired, she was already a third-grade teacher, fully removed from her college party days. But she humorously told Poehler, “You still got a lot right.”
Poehler explained that part of being on “SNL” is sometimes sharing the stage with the person you’re parodying. She expressed her gratitude to Hager for having a good sense of humor about the impersonation, saying it was a lot of fun to do.
