Applications are open for the 2026 Kroger Food Artisan Grant. This initiative aims to support small, local food businesses that are making a difference in their communities. You can apply from February 1 to February 28.
The Kroger Food Artisan Grant isn’t just about money. It’s about uplifting the people behind unique food products. The program offers resources and guidance to help these entrepreneurs grow their businesses and connect with the community.
Rachel DesRochers, Executive Director of Incubator Kitchen Collective, shared her excitement: “The Kroger Food Artisan Grant is an incredible opportunity for local artisans to receive the boost they need to expand their businesses.” This shows the importance of community support for food innovators.
In March 2026, grant recipients will be chosen and onboarded by April. The grant will officially kick off on May 1, 2026, lasting through April 2027. This means a full year of support, resources, and community connections.
This program works in collaboration with the Incubator Kitchen Collective (IKC), a nonprofit established in 2013 in Newport. IKC provides aspiring food entrepreneurs with certified kitchen spaces and a network of mentors and investors. Their role is critical in nurturing new food businesses.
Danielle Gentry from Kroger underlines this partnership’s significance: “Kroger’s collaboration with IKC shows its commitment to funding local food artisans and fostering economic development.” This funding is crucial for helping small businesses thrive, contributing to a vibrant food scene in Greater Cincinnati.
With nearly 80% of food entrepreneurs relying on grants and local support to kickstart their businesses, this grant comes at a vital time. Local food businesses not only provide unique culinary options but also create jobs and stimulate the local economy.
