The Hanover Township Mental Health Board has opened funding applications for $1 million to support local agencies addressing mental health, disabilities, and addiction issues for the fiscal year 2027.
This annual funding helps about 33 agencies offer 48 programs to residents. “We’re eager to see applications from both returning and new organizations,” said Mary Jane Garvey, chair of the mental health board.
Applications for this funding are available on the Hanover Township website at www.hanover-township.org. Completed applications are due by Friday, September 19. Agencies that receive funding will be notified in January 2026.
Serving over 100,000 residents, Hanover Township includes Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, and parts of Cook County. Access to mental health services is crucial, especially as studies indicate that one in five adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness each year. This funding aims to improve residents’ quality of life by expanding support options.
For any questions about funding, you can reach Mental Health Board Manager Amanda Teachout at (630) 837-0301 or via email at ateachout@hanover-township.org.
