Arc Raiders Revamps Expeditions: Earn Skill Points Through Damage Dealt Instead of Stash Value!

Embark Studios, the team behind Arc Raiders, has announced changes for the upcoming Expedition Window starting on April 28. They’re trying a new approach to how players earn Skill Points. Instead of collecting stash value, players will earn Skill Points by dealing damage during the five-day event.

According to a recent blog post, players can earn all five Skill Points by dealing damage with any weapon or gadget against any target (except in the practice range). This shift aims to make gameplay more exciting. “Grinding for stash value isn’t fun,” the studio noted. “We want players to enjoy the game while working towards their goals.”

This new approach encourages players to engage more actively in combat rather than hoard resources. Players who have completed their Caravan will see this challenge automatically; no extra sign-up is needed. But if you missed skill points in previous Expeditions, you can still catch up through a stash value mechanic, allowing you to gain up to 300,000 coins per missed Skill Point.

The Expedition Window opens at 12 noon UK time (1 PM CEST, 4 AM PT) on April 28 and runs until 8 AM on May 4 (9 AM CEST, 12 midnight PT). Here’s how to join:

  • Complete your Caravan: Contribute once your last Expedition is done.
  • Watch for the Expedition Window: The next one starts on April 28 and ends on May 4.
  • Sign Up: You need to sign up when the window opens.
  • Complete the Challenge: Earn up to five Skill Points by completing damage challenges.
  • Catch Up: If you’re a returning player, you can catch up on missed Skill Points.
  • Depart: All signed-up players will start on May 4.

In a related note, Embark Studios recently introduced a new tracker, available on their website, that shows real-time map conditions. This tool helps players stay informed about what’s happening in Arc Raiders, enhancing the overall experience.

Interestingly, Epic Games is rumored to be developing a new game similar to Arc Raiders, featuring Disney characters. This demonstrates growing interest in the extraction shooter genre, which is gaining popularity across the gaming community.

Overall, it seems Embark Studios is committed to making gameplay more dynamic and engaging, reflecting wider trends in the gaming industry towards interactive and immersive experiences.
