Arizona Remains Unbeaten as No. 1 in AP Top 25: Exciting Showdown with No. 13 BYU Ahead!

Arizona is still the top team in the AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll. They’re heading into a big game against No. 13 BYU. Meanwhile, Nebraska has risen to fifth place—its highest ranking ever. Both teams are unbeaten, with Arizona at 20-0, marking its best start since the 2013-14 season.

Arizona earned all 60 first-place votes this week, ahead of UConn and Michigan, who retained their previous positions. Freshman player Koa Peat said, “We’re just trying to win one game every week. We’re doing well and improving as a team.”

Nebraska, also 20-0, recently achieved a 24-game winning streak, the longest in the Big Ten since Ohio State’s run in the 2010-11 season. Coach Chris Collins of Northwestern praised Nebraska, saying it’s refreshing to see how passionately they play.

In other notable rankings, Gonzaga moved to sixth after a close win against San Francisco. Duke is in fourth, while Michigan State, Iowa State, Illinois, and Houston round out the top ten.

Purdue, however, struggles right now. They dropped to 12th after losing to both UCLA and Illinois. Meanwhile, North Carolina made a significant jump to 15th place after beating Notre Dame and Virginia.

The NET rankings, which help the NCAA with tournament selections, show some interesting shifts. UConn dropped to eighth, while Illinois climbed to sixth. Texas Tech fell to 18th, and Arkansas dropped to 20th.

Conferences are also showing their strength. The Big 12 and Big Ten are leading the pack, boasting multiple top-10 teams. Arizona and the Big 12 feature three teams in the top 10, while the Big Ten has four. The ACC, SEC, Big East, West Coast, Atlantic 10, and Mid-American conferences each have representations as well.

This season has been electrifying, with fans eagerly tracking each game and poll. Trends on social media reflect a growing excitement over the unique storylines unfolding, especially around teams like Arizona and Nebraska. As college basketball progresses, the jousts between these teams are only set to intensify.
