Atlas Power Technologies Makes History: First Domestic Supercapacitors from Dry-Electrode Tech Earn UL 810A Certification!

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia, Jan. 27, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Atlas Power Technologies is excited to share that our new supercapacitors, made using our unique dry-electrode technology, have received UL 810A certification from the CSA Group.

“This is a big step for Atlas. It shows how advanced our dry-electrode production has become. We’re proud to be the first company in North America to produce supercapacitors entirely with this method,” said Mitchell Miller, CEO of Atlas Power Technologies.

Our certified APT1-3800 supercapacitors operate at 2.7 volts and offer a remarkable 3,800 Farads (F). They also have an outstanding energy density of 3.85 Wh, making them the highest for a 2.7-volt cell worldwide. This achievement reflects our commitment to providing top-notch energy storage solutions for various uses, like electric vehicles, renewable energy, data center backup, and grid stabilization.

“Getting UL 810A certification highlights our team’s hard work in innovation and quality,” said Ali Khosrozadeh, Chief Scientific Officer. “Our dry-electrode technology is setting new standards for energy density and environmental safety, offering customers more efficient supercapacitors.”

One key feature of our technology is the dry-electrode manufacturing process, which is completely free of NMP (N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone). This means we avoid toxic solvents often found in traditional supercapacitor and battery production, reducing environmental impact while improving efficiency.

The UL 810A certification ensures that our supercapacitors meet strict safety and performance standards, making them suitable for even the most demanding applications.
