AUBURN, Ala. — The Auburn Board of Trustees has greenlit the Jordan-Hare North Project. Construction kicks off in the summer of 2026, with the goal of completing it by spring 2029.
This ambitious project will be the biggest upgrade in the history of Auburn Athletics and Jordan-Hare Stadium. It aims to benefit the entire Auburn community, not just during football season. The facility will support student life year-round, featuring spaces for gathering, learning, and events.
One standout addition will be Shug’s Food Hall, offering a variety of dining options right on campus and serving game-day attendees. The project also includes modern amenities like new premium seating, retail shops, and event spaces.
According to Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen, “The Jordan-Hare North Project will elevate the experience for fans and strengthen the community connection.” It’s designed to enhance both game days and daily campus life.
The renovations will introduce significant upgrades for all ticket holders, including five new entry gates, numerous concession points, and improved restroom facilities. New concessions will ensure a quicker, higher-quality food experience on game days.
One particularly exciting feature will be the sixth-floor terrace, which will connect the upper decks of the stadium. This area will not only offer more food and beverage options but will also be home to the beloved Eagle Flight tradition.
Dr. Christopher B. Roberts, president of Auburn University, highlights the project’s role in fostering community: “As a land-grant institution, we aim to create spaces that enrich student life and promote connections.”
Once finished, the new facility will include over 3,000 premium experiences without increasing the stadium’s capacity of 88,000. Fans can expect new seating types, like loge seating and terrace suites.
Auburn Senior Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Bobby Woodard, noted the expanded student spaces, responding to the growing demand for areas where students can hang out and celebrate milestones.
The project’s design aims for adaptability, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of the campus community all year round. Zeke Smith, Chair of the Auburn Board of Trustees Facility Committee, stated, “We’re focused on creating flexible spaces that can be used for various events and academic purposes.”
This project also marks the start of the fundraising campaign “Ever Auburn.” Inspired by former President Dr. Ralph Brown Draughon’s belief in Auburn’s legacy and future, the campaign will gather support from the community to make this vision a reality.
