SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana football is kicking off the 2025 season ranked No. 23 in the AFCA poll. The Vikings will face Missouri Western at home on August 30.
Last year, Augustana finished strong with an 8-4 record, having secured its second consecutive NSIC title. This achievement marks the school’s second standalone conference championship since 1959 and their fourth NCAA Division II Playoff appearance in five years.
In the recent NSIC preseason poll, the coaches placed Augustana second. Gunnar Hensley was recognized as the NSIC South Division Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while Logan Leonard earned the title of NSIC Preseason Defensive Player to Watch.
Fans can look forward to six home games in 2025, including special events like Viking Days on September 27 against Winona State, the Hall of Fame Game on October 11 against Concordia-St. Paul, and Senior Day on November 8 against Minnesota State.
