Austin Peay State University Appoints Ginna Holleman as New Strategic Communications Leader—Your Source for Clarksville News and Events!

Austin Peay State University (APSU) has welcomed Ginna Holleman as its new chief of strategic communication. With over 30 years of experience in communications and community leadership, she’s poised to make a significant impact.

Holleman was previously the chief experience officer at Fortera Credit Union, where she has worked since 2019. Her background includes being the CEO of United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region, where she focused on social advocacy and resource development. Her diverse roles in both the private and nonprofit sectors show her dedication to community betterment.

But her expertise goes beyond her professional life. Holleman is also an active community member. She’s the president of the Fortera Foundation and chairs the board for Visit Clarksville. Additionally, she serves on the boards of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council and the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce. She even advises the Stephen A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone, highlighting her commitment to underserved populations.

Holleman has a personal connection to APSU. She chaired the university’s Comprehensive Campaign from 2020 to 2021 and is part of the College of Business Advisory Board. An alumna herself, she graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and was named the Distinguished Alumna of the Year in 2022.

“Ginna brings a wealth of experience in communications and leadership,” said APSU President Mike Licari. He added that her deep ties to the community and love for the university will enhance its narrative.

Holleman expressed her enthusiasm for this new chapter. “Austin Peay State University is not just an educational institution; it’s a community that inspires and empowers. I’m excited to help share its story.”

She will officially begin her role on August 25th, joining APSU’s senior leadership team. With a strong foundation in marketing and community service, Holleman’s appointment signals a promising future for communication at the university.

Recent surveys show that effective communication can significantly boost student engagement and alumni relations in universities. Holleman’s rich experience may very well position APSU to tap into these benefits.

The growing focus on strategic communication in institutions of higher learning is essential, especially as universities strive to connect with diverse audiences. Holleman’s role could be pivotal in enhancing APSU’s outreach and community relations.
