- These advanced technologies will support the third expansion phase of Saudi Arabia’s largest unconventional gas field.
HOUSTON and LONDON, Jan. 30, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Baker Hughes, a company focused on energy technology, announced that it secured a new contract from Tecnicas Reunidas. This contract is for the third expansion phase of Aramco’s Jafurah gas field in Saudi Arabia. The order was finalized in late 2024.
Baker Hughes will supply cutting-edge electric compression solutions, taking advantage of its expanded facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This new contract builds on Baker Hughes’ ongoing collaboration with Aramco, which dates back to earlier projects like the Haradh and Hawiyah gas plants, and the first phase of the Jafurah gas plant.
“Gas is crucial for providing reliable and cleaner energy,” said Ganesh Ramaswamy, executive vice president at Baker Hughes. “Our innovative gas compression technology will help enhance production from the Jafurah field, supporting Aramco’s energy goals and Saudi Arabia’s broader energy strategy.”
