“We confirm that we have received a note verbale from the Bangladesh High Commission today regarding the extradition request. We have no comment on this matter at this time,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said throughout a media briefing.

Earlier on Monday (December 23, 2024), Bangladesh Home Advisor Jahangir Alam said that his workplace has despatched a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate the extradition of the ousted Prime Minister from India. He said, “We have sent a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs regarding his extradition. The process is still going on.” Alam said that an extradition treaty already exists between Dhaka and New Delhi and below this, Hasina could be introduced again to Bangladesh.
