Bauducco Foods, a well-known cookie company, has begun construction on a new production and distribution facility in Zephyrhills, Florida. This marks an exciting step for the company, which has roots dating back to 1952, when Carlo Bauducco, an Italian immigrant, launched it in São Paulo, Brazil. Today, Bauducco is a family-run business in its third generation, producing over 400,000 tons of baked goods every year.
The new facility will be spread across 72 acres at the Zephyrhills Airport Industrial Park and involves an investment of over $200 million. Once completed, it will help the company produce its popular products, including biscuits, wafers, and their famous Panettone.
The construction will take place in three phases. The first phase is set to start operations by mid-2026, followed by the second phase in 2028, and the third in 2030. This new facility is expected to create around 600 jobs in the Tampa Bay area, with about 120 full-time roles available from the start.
Experts say that Bauducco’s investment is a significant boost for the local economy. Manufacturing facilities often stimulate job growth and foster economic development in the surrounding communities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job creation in manufacturing has been a driver of recovery in many regions across the U.S., showing an increase of 9% in the past year alone.
