Spain’s New Climate Shelter Initiative

Sanchez emphasized that 88% of Spaniards view climate change as a serious issue requiring urgent action. This includes a wide range of political views, indicating a strong consensus on the need for change.
In a related critique, Sanchez condemned the EU’s decision to ease restrictions on petrol and diesel cars by 2035, describing it as a “historic mistake.” Climate-related challenges—like more frequent wildfires and droughts—are already affecting everyday life in Europe.
