Game Freak has shared more details about the small team behind their upcoming game, *Beast of Reincarnation*. In this adventure, players will step into the shoes of Emma the Sealer. Alongside her loyal dog, Koo, Emma will face the root of the world’s corruption to save humanity.
Earlier this year, it came to light that Game Freak, known for its work on the Pokémon franchise, is collaborating with other studios to bring this game to life. “We’re lucky to have many people working with us,” the company stated back in January.
Recently, I had the chance to speak with game director Kota Furushima about how the development team is structured. “The creative direction and project management come from our staff at Game Freak,” Furushima explained. “Since our internal team is small, we rely on trusted external partners for specific project parts.” This approach allows them to stay true to their vision while still getting the support they need.
Furushima expressed gratitude for the “several dozen reliable development partners” involved in *Beast of Reincarnation*. Game Freak oversees the creative direction, tackles technical challenges, and manages production to keep everything moving smoothly.
Set to release on August 4, *Beast of Reincarnation* is themed around “loneliness,” but Furushima aims to infuse the game with elements of “warmth” and “reliability,” largely thanks to the presence of Emma’s canine companion.
