Taylor Swift has been incredibly busy recently. While touring with her Eras Tour in Europe, she revealed in her New Heights podcast that she was also working on her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. She shared that during breaks from performing, she’d fly to Sweden to record her 12th studio album.

“I would do three shows in a row, then have three days off,” she said. “I’d fly to Sweden, return to the tour, and continue working on this album. It was exhausting but so exciting to create.”

Swift’s Eras Tour wrapped up in December 2024 after a massive 149 shows worldwide. This summer, she performed in Europe, including eight shows in London over two months.

In her podcast, Swift talked about her new album, describing it as a reflection of her emotions during a vibrant time in her life. “This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour,” she said. “It’s joyful and dramatic, capturing that wild energy.”

She also announced the tracklist for The Life of a Showgirl on her social media. The album comes out on October 3, and the cover features an intriguing underwater photo of Swift.

The album includes 12 tracks, notably the title track featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Other songs are “Eldest Daughter,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” and the opening track, “The Fate of Ophelia.” Co-produced by Swift, Shellback, and Max Martin, the album promises a mix of powerful themes and melodies.
