The defence ministry has signed a contract with Bharat Electronics Limited to supply 149 software-defined radios for the Indian Coast Guard. This deal is worth ₹1,220.12 Crore.

These radios will enhance secure and dependable communication for the Coast Guard. With high-speed data and secure voice channels, they will improve teamwork and situational awareness.
This upgrade will strengthen the Coast Guard’s ability to carry out key duties such as enforcing maritime laws, protecting fisheries, conducting search and rescue missions, and safeguarding the marine environment. Moreover, the new radios will facilitate better coordination with the Indian Navy during joint operations.
Recently, Bharat Electronics also announced reaching a milestone by manufacturing its 7,000th transmit/receive (T/R) module for the RBE2 radar as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. This module was delivered to Thales.
Furthermore, earlier this month, the company secured orders worth ₹962 Crore for supplying an Electro-Optic Fire Control System (EOFCS) to the Indian Navy.
As of now, Bharat Electronics shares have seen a rise of 2.72%, trading at ₹260.30, compared to ₹253.40 from the previous close. The stock reached an intraday high of ₹260.95 and a low of ₹250.25 on the National Stock Exchange.
