Bella Thorne Alleges Shocking On-Set Injury by Co-Star Mickey Rourke: ‘I Suffered Bruises on My Pelvic Bone’

Bella Thorne recently opened up about a difficult experience she had while working with Mickey Rourke on a film set. In light of Rourke’s recent homophobic remarks aimed at JoJo Siwa, Thorne felt compelled to share her own story.

In a series of posts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), she described her encounter with Rourke as one of the worst moments of her acting career. While she did not specify the film, she painted a vivid picture of her experience. She revealed, “This guy was GROSS. I had to work with him in a scene where I was zip-tied with my hands behind my back. He was supposed to use a metal grinder near my knee, but instead, he directed it towards my genitals, hitting them repeatedly. I ended up with bruises."

Thorne continued, mentioning other unsettling moments on set. She recalled, “So many gross stories of things he made me go through. In one scene, he decided to rev his engine and covered me completely in dirt. It felt like he wanted to humiliate me in front of the entire crew. I had to go into his trailer alone to convince him to show up because he refused to work with the director or the producers. I had to beg him to complete his job."

Despite her discomfort, Thorne pushed through, believing that the film needed Rourke. Even when she didn’t want to, she made choices that she felt were best for the project.

After her revelations, Rourke’s representatives issued a statement. They acknowledged Thorne’s serious allegations but claimed he denies any intentional wrongdoing. They added that Rourke was unaware of Thorne’s discomfort during filming and is willing to cooperate with any inquiries about the situation. They expressed support for all professionals seeking a safe work environment.

This type of behavior on set has raised questions about the culture in Hollywood. According to a 2023 survey by the Hollywood Commission, nearly 54% of people in the entertainment industry reported experiencing some form of harassment or bullying. This highlights a broader issue, emphasizing the importance of safe environments for everyone in the industry.

Thorne’s story emphasizes the need for awareness about workplace conduct in Hollywood and beyond. Many are voicing their experiences on social media, contributing to a growing dialogue advocating for change in the film industry.
