Bharat Kaushal Takes the Helm as Executive Chairman of Hitachi India: Driving Innovative Growth Strategies Ahead

Hitachi India has announced that Bharat Kaushal will step into the role of Executive Chairman starting April 1, 2025. He will also serve as the Corporate Officer overseeing regional strategies for Hitachi Ltd., the company’s parent organization.

Kaushal has held several significant roles at Hitachi, including Corporate Officer and Managing Director of Hitachi India. He will continue to act as the Managing Director while taking on his new responsibilities.

The company emphasizes that this appointment reflects its dedication to strengthening its long-standing partnership with India, which spans over 90 years. Kaushal made history in FY2017 when he became Hitachi India’s first Indian Managing Director. This was a pivotal moment, showcasing a shift towards local leadership that has since driven the company to grow in various strategic sectors.

In his own words, Kaushal expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am truly honoured and overwhelmed by the trust and confidence placed upon me.” He acknowledges the important role he has to play in shaping Hitachi’s future in India.

Kaushal’s strategic vision has been a catalyst for the company’s expansion across various sectors in India, including energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and urban mobility. His work has not only strengthened relationships with stakeholders but has also aligned with India’s long-term development goals.

Recent statistics underline the significance of such leadership changes. According to a survey from the Leadership Institute, effective leadership directly correlates with a company’s growth trajectory, emphasizing the influence of individuals like Kaushal on corporate success.

Moreover, the trend of local leaders taking the reins in multinational corporations is growing. A report by Deloitte indicates that companies with local leadership in key markets are often better positioned to respond to local needs and drive innovation. This trend is essential for companies looking to create a strong impact in developing regions.

With his appointment, Kaushal is poised to continue steering Hitachi towards a promising future, focusing on growth while delivering innovative solutions that cater to India’s evolving needs.
