DP World is taking a big step forward with the construction of Bharat Mart, a new trade hub in Dubai. This hub aims to expand access to global markets for Indian businesses.

The project’s virtual model was revealed at a ceremony with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. This initiative is expected to strengthen trade relations between the UAE and India.

Bharat Mart will open its doors by the end of 2026 and is designed to accommodate both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions. It will cover an impressive area of 2.7 million square feet in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.

The hub will include 1,500 showrooms and modern warehousing facilities to support small enterprises. Notably, it will provide special assistance to women-led businesses from India, highlighting a commitment to diversity and empowerment.

According to Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, this Mart is pivotal in reaching the ambitious goal of $100 billion in non-oil trade between the UAE and India by 2030. This speaks volumes about the potential for growth and collaboration between the two nations.

Its strategic location is a plus; Bharat Mart sits just 11 km from Jebel Ali Port and 15 km from Al Maktoum International Airport. With easy access to Etihad Rail, it offers incredible connectivity, allowing Indian exporters to link with over 150 maritime destinations and 300 cities around the globe.

JAFZA already hosts more than 2,300 Indian companies and continues to grow as a vital entry point for Indian trade. This development is part of a broader trend of increasing bilateral trade between India and the UAE, which has seen significant year-over-year growth.
