This merger happens at a critical time. Recent changes in federal policy threaten funding for essential services. A new tax-spending package, referred to as the “Big Beautiful Bill,” could block Medicaid payments for nonprofits like Planned Parenthood for a year. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), if these cuts go through, about 200 clinics nationwide might be at risk of closing.
