Assam NRC: In an effort to hyperlink the Aadhaar card with the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the Assam authorities on Wednesday (December 11, 2024) determined to open the method for acquiring the distinctive id card if the applicant or his household has not utilized for the NRC. There can be an company and an Additional District Commissioner would be the involved individual in every district.
‘Aadhaar card can be out there solely if you apply for NRC’
He stated, “After the initial application, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will send it to the state government for verification.” The native Circle Officer (CO) will first test whether or not the applicant or his dad and mom or household has utilized for inclusion within the NRC or not. The Chief Minister stated that if no application has been made for NRC, then Aadhaar can be used. The request can be instantly rejected and the report can be submitted to the Center accordingly.
To whom will this rule not apply?
“If it is found that the application for NRC was made, the CO will go for field-level verification as per Supreme Court directions,” he stated. Aadhaar can be authorised after the officer is utterly satisfied. CM Sarma additionally stated that this new instruction is not going to apply to these central authorities workers who’re working in different states and have utilized for NRC. Have not executed.
