Blake Lively recently stepped back into the spotlight at the “SNL” 50th anniversary special. While she felt a mix of nerves and excitement, it marked her first red carpet event with Ryan Reynolds since their legal challenges began.
A source revealed that she was anxious but happy to support her friends and the show, which she hosted back in 2009. After the live event, Lively and Reynolds enjoyed catching up with familiar faces like Ben Stiller and Paul McCartney.
They also shared some laughs with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, and Lively was spotted embracing Amy Schumer, who has publicly supported her amid ongoing legal troubles involving Justin Baldoni. Schumer expressed her belief in Lively on Instagram back in December.
Just before the “SNL” special, Lively and Reynolds were seen celebrating Chris Rock’s birthday alongside Chevy Chase. During the event, Reynolds made light of their situation when he jokingly answered Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s questions about how things were going for him.
Last December, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment while claiming he led a smear campaign against her. Baldoni has denied these allegations and countersued, accusing Lively and Reynolds of defamation.
Support poured in from Lively’s co-stars, Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate, along with the book’s author Colleen Hoover. Sklenar highlighted the importance of their film, “It Ends With Us,” during an interview, emphasizing the significance it holds for him and his loved ones who have faced similar struggles. When asked which side he took in the legal conflict, he chose to focus on the film’s message instead.
