In February, CEFCO is stepping up to support the American Heart Association’s mission to save lives. Research shows that over 60% of U.S. adults will face some form of cardiovascular disease (CVD) within the next 30 years. To combat this growing concern, the American Heart Association is teaming up with CEFCO convenience stores to encourage customers to join the fight against heart disease.
As part of the Life Is Why™ campaign, shoppers at CEFCO can make a difference by choosing to “round up” their purchases at the pump or in-store. CEFCO has supported the Association since 2010 and aims to raise even more funds through February 28, 2025. Last year, their efforts raised $264,000!
“We believe in community power and encourage our customers to participate in this important cause,” said Jasmina M. Bakir, senior marketing manager for CEFCO. “Our commitment is to foster healthier lives by backing crucial research and community initiatives.”
Every donation, no matter how small, helps the American Heart Association fund vital programs. Here are some initiatives supported by donations:
- Research aimed at enhancing health outcomes for heart and stroke patients
- Training over 2.5 million high school students in CPR every year
- Supporting local groups focused on better health in underserved communities
