Boston University Terriers Claim Runner-Up Spot at Patriot League Championship – A Thrilling Journey!

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Boston University women’s golf team concluded their season at the Patriot League Championship on a high note, scoring 307 in the final round. They secured second place, trailing behind Navy, in a challenging tournament held at Saucon Valley Country Club.

Junior Annika Manjunath shone brightly for BU, finishing fourth with a score of 9-over par (73-76-76). This impressive performance earned her a spot on the All-PL First Team. Senior Christy Chen and sophomore Amy Han both tied for seventh place, posting scores of 15-over par (76-78-77). They were recognized with All-PL Second Team honors.

Senior Victoria Takai also contributed, scoring 79 on the final day, which placed her tied for 14th with a total score of 20-over par (80-77-79). On the final round, Manjunath celebrated three birdies, and Chen, Han, and Takai each had two. This marked the last collegiate round for co-captains Chen and Takai.

Sophomores Madison Takai and Hibiki Adachi rounded out the team’s efforts, finishing tied for 24th and 26th with scores of 33-over (83-82-84) and 34-over (85-78-87), respectively.

Chen’s recognition as an all-league player for the fourth consecutive year showcases her consistent performance, while Manjunath’s second-first team nomination highlights her growth in the sport. Han’s first All-PL award follows her impressive rookie achievements last season when she claimed Rookie of the Year honors.

Interestingly, this marks the third year in a row that BU has secured the runner-up spot in the Championship, with Bucknell sitting 11 strokes behind them in this year’s competition.

According to recent statistics from the National Golf Foundation, women’s golf participation has seen a steady increase, highlighting the sport’s growing popularity.
