Bowie State Volleyball Suffers Setback Against Virginia Union

Bowie State University’s volleyball team faced a tough match against Virginia Union, losing in three sets: 18-25, 25-27, 19-25.

In the first set, Virginia Union jumped ahead, benefiting from several errors by Bowie State. A timely kill from Nina Edwards helped the Bulldogs tie the score at 1-1. They managed to level it again at 8-8, thanks to a solid block by Madyson Brinson and Melisa Anacius. However, Virginia Union’s late surge secured them the first set.

Bowie State started the second set strong, with a service ace from Mekenna Scott and another kill from Edwards. The Bulldogs stayed competitive with additional kills from Lyric Snowden and another ace by Trinity Loundmon. Despite tying the set at 24, Virginia Union narrowly won it with a 27-25 score.

Things looked grim in the third set as Bowie State fell behind 6-1. Yet, they fought back, with Edwards leading the charge through multiple kills and blocks. The deficit shrank to 17-13, but Virginia Union clinched the match with a final set score of 25-19.
