The Pacific baseball team celebrated a much-needed victory on Sunday, beating Pacific Lutheran 6-4. This win not only snapped a seven-game losing streak but also prevented a series sweep.
The Boxers were down 4-2 as they entered the sixth inning. Javin Hamura stepped up, doubling to right field. This set the stage for Will Shelor, who hit an RBI single that brought Hamura home, narrowing the gap to 4-3.
In the seventh inning, the Boxers surged ahead. Miles Bergman kickstarted the inning with a single. He scored the tying run from an RBI double by Benjamin Lewis. Matthew Pavao followed, hitting another single to put the Boxers ahead 5-4. Max Finkelstein rounded out the scoring with yet another RBI single, sealing the game at 6-4.
Lewis shined at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. Shelor matched that performance, also finishing 3-for-4. Overall, the team tallied 14 hits.
On the mound, Adam Kim earned the win in relief, while Trent Nagamine closed the game, delivering 1.2 scoreless innings to secure the save. With this victory, Pacific now stands at 3-6 in conference play.
