YouTuber Brandon Buckingham in ICU for Organ Failure
Brandon Buckingham, a popular YouTuber and musician, is currently in the ICU due to severe organ failure. The 30-year-old shared his condition on social media, stating, “In the ICU, my heart is failing, my lungs are failing, my liver and kidneys are failing. Things are not looking good, my friends. I love you guys.”
Just days before his hospital admission, Brandon asked fans to pray for him. He shared that doctors suspected he might have tuberculosis, septic pneumonia, or liver failure. In a post, he appeared frail with a nasal cannula to help with his breathing.
Earlier this month, Brandon posted a photo from a hospital bed. Although he didn’t elaborate on what caused his hospitalization, he mentioned that his condition seemed to stabilize.
Weeks prior, he had opened up about his mental health struggles, compounded by the recent loss of his grandmother. He expressed feelings of isolation, saying, “I feel I have more people waiting for me in heaven than here on earth.”
Brandon rose to fame by interviewing random people on the streets and currently has over 1.2 million subscribers on YouTube. His last video focused on the challenges faced by homeless children in Lebanon. He’s collaborated with various notable figures, including Machine Gun Kelly.
Interestingly, mental health is a growing concern among content creators. According to a recent survey by the American Psychological Association, 61% of young adults report anxiety linked to social media pressures. The digital world can sometimes amplify feelings of loneliness and inadequacy, making it vital for creators to seek help when needed.
As Brandon battles this serious health challenge, many fans have rallied on social media to show support and express their concerns. This incident shines a light on the importance of mental and physical well-being, especially in such a high-pressure industry.
